Join like-minded wooly – creative types as we spend time together stitching on our own wool applique projects. The instructor will coach and teach participants as needed and encourage them as
they bring their wool quilts and projects to life. We
come together in fellowship to learn and inspire each other in the hope we can get something finished!

Embroidery Club
Embroidery Club will be offered month to month. $30.00 a month includes the complete designs from OESD. We will use your name and email when downloading the designs, so be sure that we get that information when you sign up. All designs we do in class will be kept to the Oval Hoop size. Kits will be available at an additional cost and be sure to pick up a supply list.

Beginning Paper Piecing
Instructor: Karin
Confused by paper piecing? Have you always wanted to paper piece? Join Karin as you create a paper pieced table runner without all the confusion. You will use preprinted paper pads for the pattern and learn how to organize your project for faster and easier piecing.
The block foundation papers will be available for purchase at the Quilt Basket.

Free Motion Quilting and BSR

Are you struggling with quilting on your home machine? Have no fear, you really CAN learn free motion quilting! Come join Kathy and lose the fear! You’ll learn the basics of free motion quilting and how batting, thread and needles affect the outcome. And you’ll go home with a great sample to be proud of. At the end of class, she will review the BERNINA Stitch Regulator, so bring that if you have one.

Let’s Make a Small Kawandi Quilt
Instructor: Lorraine • Beginners Welcome
Students will learn the Siddi art of Kawandi Quilting. Kawandi quilting is known for its use of scrap fabric and hand stitching. Enjoy a no-stress, slow stitching class while you play with color, fabric, and thread. No sewing machines will be used or needed in this class
Your finished small quilt could be used as a table topper or you could transform it to a folio purse, cosmetic bag or placemat. Be prepared for fun and surprises in this joyful class. Kits will be available or students can bring their own scraps.

Sew Summer Nights
Beginning in June, we are offering an evening of sewing and visiting. Friday evenings, bring your project and bring your sewing supplies; and join others as we work on our projects. We will have tables set up for you to sit and sew at, but one will be dedicated for snacks to share.

Home of the Free Machine Embroidery
Join us for a day embroidering a large pattern and make a pillow to enjoy with your 4th of July celebrations. This Home of the Free embroidery is big and must be done on a 7,8 or 9 series Bernina. If you don’t own a big machine, don’t worry, you can “rent” one for the day. (So, this is a great opportunity if you are thinking about expanding your sewing room to include a bigger machine to try one out.) Having machine embroidery experience is helpful but not mandatory for this class. Be sure to pick up the supply list, and you can make up your own kit, or purchase one from us. Optional kit fee $20.00

Create your own “Glorious Bowl Fillers”
Instructor: Lorraine • Perfect for Beginners
Perfect class for wooly beginners and great fun for experienced wool workers too. Spend a few hours creating the bowl fillers of your choice. Students will cut the wool, applique the wool shapes and embroider simple stitches to embellish their work during the class. Visit the Quilt Basket to see the class samples. Determined students will likely finish their project in class.

Wooly Handworker’s Stitch Book

Advanced and Adventurous Beginners Welcome
Let us help you bring your wool and multimedia projects to life. Create your very own wooly embroidery stitch book using a variety of threads on a foundation of linen, wool and cotton.
Students may use their own thread but will purchase a kit each month with the materials
they need to complete a page layout that will be added to their book. The student’s stitch book will spring to life with vignettes, collage, colorful threads, and fabulous stitches. Join us for a creative and joyful time.

Beautiful Bindings
Instructor: Helen Frost
Learn all the tricks and techniques for great bindings by working on small pre-quilted samples. Everything is already cut and prepared; just come and sew! Note: To sew a binding to an actual quilt, you would use a walking foot but for these samples, a 1/4ʺ foot or regular foot is fine. Compile the practice pieces in a binder to create a resource that you will refer to again and again!
Kit fee: $15.00 (includes all pre-quilted sample pieces, bindings, handouts, page protectors, and special tools), to be paid in class to the instructor (The Quilt Basket does not collect this fee).

Beginner Sewing Classes

This beginner sewing class is for the student that has little experience with using a sewing machine and wants to learn. We will learn how to sew and use our Bernina sewing machines. Over 3 class meetings, we will be making 2 projects that will help build your sewing skills including adding a zipper.Kit fee $30.

Floral Bouquet Embroidery
Join us for a day embroidering a floral bouquet and make a tote bag. This Floral Bouquet embroidery will fit in the large oval hoop. We will do the embroidery first and then after lunch, put the tote together. This is our favorite tote, and a very useful bag. Be sure to pick up the supply list, and you can make up your own kit, or purchase one from us. Optional kit fee $20.00

Beginning Quilting

Looking to make your first quilt? This class will cover the basics like proper cutting methods, making blocks, & arranging blocks into a quilt top. Though the pattern looks complicated, the assembly is easy and suited to a beginning quilter.

We hope you will join us for our annual Summer Block of the Week. We will be making the sweetly spooky "Happy Haunt" quilt designed by Stacy Iest Hsu using her new fabric "Home Sweet Haunt".

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES
You may pre–register for classes either at the shop or by mail. Phone registration may be made with either Visa or MasterCard. If you would like us to mail your receipt and supply list, include a self– addressed stamped envelope.
Seven day cancellation policy
Many of our clubs and classes have a class fee or they are free if you have purchased your sewing machine or software from us. All our classes require you to cancel seven day prior to your class for a refund. For example, if your class is on a Saturday, you must cancel by the previous Saturday. The “seven day cancellation” includes all free classes that require pre–registration. We do require pre–registration on some of our free classes; an example is our mastery class and Embroidery Club. The pre–registration helps the instructor prepare for the class. The Sewing Room policy on mastery class is; your scheduled mastery class continues whether there is one or five in the class, you do not have to worry about cancellation due to the number of students in the class.
Refundable cancellation policy
Classes that ask for a refundable deposit must be in cash or check. To receive your refund you must attend the class or cancel 7 days prior to the class, e.g. a Saturday class must be cancelled by Saturday.
